Meditation is the integral part of any spiritual practice as it is through regular practice that you are able to cleanse and nourish your body from within, thus developing the ability to calm your mind whenever your feel overwhelmed, unstable or even emotionally shut down. These feelings of inner peace and calmness can then be emitted into the environment around you, bringing harmony and balance to your environment.
Monday Night Meditations is an open group where participants are guided through an initial grounding relaxation before moving into opening and balancing the chakras (body’s energy centres) through “chakra dhyana”, where the beeja or seed mantras of each chakra are intoned. This aligns yourself with the cosmos. This is then followed by the chanting of a chosen mantra** (sacred prayer) as it is through sonic vibrations that we are able to connect with and seek guidance from the chosen aspect of the Divine, or Bodhisattva (enlightened being), for that month.
