Hello and Welcome

bigstock-three-massage-stones-relax-16383113-980x600My name is Frances and I am the creatrix and principal therapist of the Isian Centre of Metaphysics, a sacred space which encases all that I do (and more). Pronounced “eye-see-an”, and named after the ancient Egyptian Goddess Isis (or Aset) who was known for her powers of healing and magic, the Isian Centre of Metaphysics is located on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains, only 20 minutes north of Adelaide’s CBD, in Parafield Gardens.

My interest in the unfolding mysteries of life has resulted in the exploration of the concept of our mind-body-spirit connection for over 30 years through the study of metaphysics, mythology and sacred earth-centric mysteries.  It is through reconnecting with the stories of our ancestors and the land upon which we walk that we begin to understand our connection on a deeper soul level, our place in the cosmos, and why we are here.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Metaphysical Science, qualifications in various energetic healing modalities (including Usui Reiki, Seichim and Pellowah) as well as being a certified hypnotherapist, Death Walker (End of Life Doula – someone who assists the dying and their families through the end of life transition), and a practitioner of past life regressions.  With over 20 years of being an accomplished tarot card reader, not to mention being a Level I yoga teacher, all this (and more) do I bring to the Isian Centre of Metaphysics in the Reboot Your Life sessions.

Isis Nephyths OsirisWorking with sacred symbolism, and drawing inspiration from earth-centric spiritual practices, I further enjoy creating sacred ritual that not only mark various Rites of Passage throughout one’s life, but also ceremonies that create connection with the divine as well as creating a positive space in which to reside.

From time to time, I run workshops on metaphysical concepts, soul-deep mythological journeying, and self-empowerment through the spinning of magick and utilising earth-centric spirituality.

I am a prolific writer and have contributed essays and soul-centred poetry to over 40 publications and am the author of a number of books, from Dancing the Sacred Wheel (first published in 2012), with Encountering the Dark Goddess: A Journey into the Shadow Realms and Contemporary Witchcraft: Foundational Practices for a Magical Life (both published through Moon Books).

There is a Zen proverb that advises:

“Before enlightenment, chop wood, carry water;
after enlightenment, chop wood, carry water.”

In other words, spiritual development of any sort does not make you exempt from material needs.  As such, being fully present in the “here and how”, on this conscious plane whilst striving to gain spiritual evolution of our own soul is vitally important.  When we become fully present, we also become fully responsible … and this in itself leads to spiritual evolution of the soul.

In order to know where we are going, we need to understand where we have come from, and open our hearts to the great wisdom shared by those who have come before us.

I am delighted to announce that I will be presenting at WitchFest USA – A Pagan Faire (14 to 17 July) during their online live streaming platforms.  I will be kicking off Friday’s event with my presentation on Goddesses of Chaos, Death and Change (10am EST (USA) – 11.30pm Adelaide time), and will be back again on my Sunday with Dancing with Kali Ma (again at 10am EST (USA) – 11.30pm Adelaide time).  The following Saturday, 23 July 2022 I will be taking part in the Virtual Symposium of Pagan Thought and Practice which will be discussing Dying and Death: Pagans Engaging End of Life Issues

Later, in September, I will be presenting at the Scottish Goddess Conference with my talk about the Egyptian goddess Nephthys, as well as offering a workshop on the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram at the Australian Wiccan Conference.

I am in the process of offering a number of courses that specifically focus around working with the Dark Goddess, not only as aspect of the divine feminine, but also as a means of exploring your authentic, true self, the “you” behind the masks that we often wear.

The next online Gifts from the Dark Goddess sadhana will be commencing on Tuesday, 11 October 2022.  This month long online sadhana journey will take you into the Shadow Self through connecting with the Dark Goddess in order to initiate healing and commence positive change at the deepest soul level.

Other courses including exploring who the Dark Goddess is through the various cultures and exploring her often under-utilised archetypal energy (or magic) in this modern world.  More updates are regularly announced on Facebook and  Instagram.

In May 2023, I will be hosting a special Transform the Soul spiritual retreat in Bali, the “Land of the Gods”.  During this seven day retreat, you will be immersed into a combination of Balinese spiritual practices as well as Western metaphysical concepts that are specifically designed to (re)connect your mind, body and soul back to the divine source (however this appears to you).

If you are interested in the Goddess, the divine feminine, and I hope you will be able to join me at some of these events.
